Equestrian Mental Health

For Riders By a Rider struggling with nerves, anxiety, sadness in life, the arena, or a traumatic riding incident. I will hear you.

Mental Health Care That Understands the Equestrian Life

Being an equestrian is more than a sport-it’s a way of life, filled with unique challenges, pressures, and rewards. As someone who has competed at the top 1D level in barrel racing and is now dedicated to mastering the sport of equestrian show jumping, I know firsthand what it takes to pursue excellence in the saddle. I also understand how mental health struggles-like anxiety, depression, or neurodivergence-can impact your connection with your horse, your performance, and your overall well-being.

If you’re an equestrian facing mental health challenges, you’re not alone. Riders are just as vulnerable to stress, burnout, self-doubt, and emotional struggles as anyone else. In fact, the demands of training, competition, and the deep bond we share with our horses can make these challenges even more complex. My own journey-returning to the equestrian world after years away, transforming my health, and learning new disciplines-means I bring empathy, expertise, and real-world understanding to every session.

Whether you’re a competitive rider, a passionate amateur, or someone who simply loves horses, I offer a safe space where you can talk openly about your struggles and find practical, personalized support.

Services for Equestrians

Anxiety & Performance Pressure
Learn how to manage show nerves, perfectionism, and the stress that comes with riding and competing. Together, we’ll develop strategies to help you stay calm, focused, and connected with your horse-both in and out of the arena.

Depression & Burnout

If you’re feeling exhausted, unmotivated, or disconnected from your passion, you’re not alone. I help equestrians recognize the signs of burnout and depression, rebuild their motivation, and rediscover joy in their riding and daily life.

Neurodivergent Riders (ADHD, Autism, etc.)

Many equestrians are neurodivergent-and that’s a strength, not a weakness. I work with riders on the spectrum, or with ADHD, to help them understand their unique minds, build on their strengths, and find new ways to connect with their horses and the world around them.

Trauma, Confidence, & Connection

Past falls, injuries, or difficult experiences can create lasting fears or blockages. I use trauma-informed approaches to help riders process these experiences, rebuild confidence, and strengthen the partnership with their horse.

No matter your discipline, experience level, or background, you deserve support from someone who truly understands the equestrian journey. Let’s work together to improve your mental health, deepen your connection with your horse, and help you thrive-both in and out of the saddle.
